Windows PowerShell (Monad) – Microsoft’s new Windows scripting language

OK So I’ve had Powershell downloaded for a while (version 1.0 release) and haven’t had an opportunity to use it. The time has come… at least a little bit. Lots to dig. But at the very least it was pretty easy to do a recursive search in multiple folders across two computers (one accessed via network) for all PDF files and save it out to text files. That was both a mini-test and a useful one for the work we’re doing now. Here is one resource to help get started with that.

My mission is to two fold. Firstly, to encourage a new generation of scripters to learn PowerShell. To them I say, it will be easy to get started and you will be surprised by how many tasks you can employ PowerShell to administer your Windows computers more efficiently.
